Located in the heart of historic Quincy, California, our collection of private garden cottages offers a peaceful place to slow down, settle in, and experience the character of the Lost Sierra. Downtown shops, local restaurants, galleries, the Plumas County Museum, and the historic courthouse are just a leisurely walk away, while the lakes, rivers, forests, and mountain roads of Plumas County are waiting just beyond town.

Each cottage is its own little world—thoughtfully furnished, comfortable, and full of character. Private patios, full kitchens, inviting living spaces, and the surrounding gardens give you the freedom to enjoy Quincy at your own pace, whether you're here for a romantic getaway, an outdoor adventure, a visit with family, or an extended stay for work.

A Place With a Story

Ada’s Place is more than a collection of cottages. It is part of Quincy’s history.

The property’s historic home dates to 1859 and was once the Anna Berg ranch house, moved to its present location in the late 1890s. After facing demolition in 1989, the house was rescued and restored. Even though the home is now a private residence, the cottages themselves have their own stories and live on as Ada's Place, with several rebuilt using salvaged and reclaimed materials from the original structures and the surrounding region.

That spirit of restoration and creativity can be found throughout the property—from antique fixtures and well-loved furnishings to handcrafted details and gardens created by the owners. Even the name Ada’s Place pays tribute to Ada Miller, a pioneering woman whose story is woven into the history of the property.

Haiku Cottage

Welcome to Hailku Cottage at Ada’s Place, a charming retreat that has welcomed Quincy visitors for generations. Thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation, this cottage is the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and feel right at home.

The main bedroom features a comfortable queen bed and a private en-suite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. Upstairs, the loft space offers a double conversion bed and its own private half bath, making it a cozy and quiet hideaway for additional guests. Note; the loft is open to the downstairs area. Blinds can be closed for more privacy.

Downstairs, the inviting living area includes a queen pull-out sofa, perfect for lounging or accommodating extra sleepers. A window A/C unit keeps the space cool and comfortable during the warmer summer months.

Set in a peaceful setting while still being just minutes from downtown Quincy, Hailku Cottage offers the best of both worlds—serene surroundings with easy access to local shops, dining, and attractions, just a few blocks away.
